Four Useful Security System Add ons

As well as guarding your property from burglars, alarm systems are also able to protect you and your property from fires, flood damage and carbon monoxide leaks with the correct security system add ons.

At P&R Alarms, we offer a selection of security system add ons for new systems and existing hybrid and wireless security systems.

Flood Sensors

If you have a wire-free or hybrid alarm system, we are able to add floor sensors to your system which alert you if water is rising in your cellar or ground floor. When the sensors detects rising water, it will call you to alert you to the flood sensor activation. If you have a monitored security system, an operator at the monitoring sensory would be able to call you to alert you to the activation.

A flood sensor can’t stop flooding, however the alerts are able to give you enough time to remove items from affect areas of your property to help reduce damage to your property and belongings.

Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Carbon monoxide (CO) is called the ‘silent killer’ for a reason; it’s colourless, odourless and tasteless, which means it’s incredibly difficult to tell whether there’s a carbon monoxide leak without using a carbon monoxide detector. CO is given out by poorly installed or maintained appliances, most commonly cookers, heaters and boilers, leaving 200 people seriously ill and killing over 50 people.

Carbon monoxide detectors can be fitted as part of a new security system or added on to either an existing wire-free or hybrid alarm system.

Smoke and heat detectors

Smoke and heat detectors can also be installed on a new system or added onto an existing hybrid or wireless alarm system. The smoke detectors are able to detect smoke particles whereas a heat detector will go off once the temperature in an area passes a threshold.
